It gets better—the guy is deaf, and he taught his cat the sign for “food.” So the cat’s not just saying “put that in my mouth,” it’s actually signing
Not only that, but if you notice at the beginning, the cat *gets the man’s attention* as any person who wanted to talk to a deaf/hoh individual would (well, and vice versa IME). I’ve done sign since I was 5, and generally, w/o eye contact initially, you wave a hand or lightly touch the arm (if that’s ok with the person you’re trying to converse with, of course).
Generally, adult cats meow mostly to humans, but this cat has figured out that’s not going to work and has adapted. Animal companions! They are INCREDIBLE.
EVERYONE STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND LOOK AT THIS CAT.
AND THE WAY IT NODS OMG
John, did I do it wrong?
Did he do it fucking wrong? Ugh just kill me with a rusty spoon, and rip my eyes out. HE THOUGHT HE DID IT FUCKING WRONG!? FUCK!
I’m sobbing even today from that scene
There might be a day when I don’t reblog this scene, but that day isn’t today.
He just up and reads a love letter. Out loud. In front ot everyone. AND HE HAS NO IDEA
you can’t not smile and cry at the same time for this scene. Even now… I feel like Mrs Hudson!
The video begins humorously as Anthony Carbajal, a photographer, dresses up in a neon bikini top and soaps up a car before being doused with ice water.
- 99% of my brain: Benedict is working so hard right now, and I don't want him to get sick, so the ice bucket challenge can wait. He'll donate anyway, and that's the point.
- 1% of my brain: Young man, unless you are filming the naked scenes of a Christmas Special called "John and Sherlock Make a Porno," you'd better strip down to a thin, white T-shirt and get doused this very second.
